A Huntington Beach man was arrested Dec. 30 on suspicion of bank robbery after authorities received a tip from a citizen, police said.
Neil Cherry, 52, could face additional charges, which are under review by the Orange County district attorney’s office, according to Huntington Beach police.
From Dec. 17 to 26, authorities suspect Cherry of robbing the Bank of the West branch at 19006 Brookhurst St., of attempting to rob the Chase branch at 19021 Beach Blvd. and of scouting the U.S. Bank branch at 9042 Garfield Ave. twice.
During the Bank of the West robbery, Cherry is suspected of handing a note threatening violence to a teller; however, no weapon was seen. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
Cherry was taken into custody at the Bella Terra Shopping Center.
