A Huntington Beach motorcyclist sustained major injuries Tuesday morning after crashing into a trash truck near Warner Avenue and Nichols Lane, authorities said.
The motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Warner and passing slower traffic by weaving in and out of lanes around 7 a.m., said Jennifer Marlatt, public information officer for the Huntington Beach Police Department.
He attempted to change lanes between a car and a stopped Rainbow Environmental Services garbage truck when he crashed into the rear of the truck, the spokeswoman said.
Huntington Beach Fire Department officials transported the rider, who has been identified as a 42-year-old resident of the city, to a local hospital with major injuries.
