The Clippers said point guard Chris Paul, who suffered a bruised right thigh against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night, will play Monday night against the Phoenix Suns at Staples Center.
Paul participated in the Clippers’ shoot-around Monday morning and was fine, the team said.
He left the game against the Warriors with 4:57 remaining and didn’t return. Clippers Coach Doc Rivers had said after the game that Paul would play against the Suns.
After the All-Star break, the Clippers opened by playing against the two best teams in the NBA -- San Antonio and Golden State -- and split the two games, beating the Spurs, 105-86, and losing to the Warriors, 115-112.
But the next three games for the Clippers are against sub-.500 teams.
After they host the Suns (14-42) and then the Denver Nuggets (22-34) on Wednesday, they travel to Sacramento to face the Kings (23-31) on Friday night.
