Only five teams have longer World Series droughts than the Dodgers

The Chicago Cubs’ triumph removed another team from the shrinking list of teams with a World Series drought longer than the Dodgers.
The Dodgers last appeared in the World Series in 1988. The teams with longer droughts: the Baltimore Orioles (1983), Milwaukee Brewers (1982), Pittsburgh Pirates (1979), Seattle Mariners (never) and Washington Nationals/Montreal Expos (never).
The four most recent expansion teams -- the Colorado Rockies and Miami Marlins, founded in 1993, and the Arizona Diamondbacks and Tampa Bay Rays, founded in 1998, all have reached the World Series.
