Baseball: 6-foot-7 freshman Justin Campbell to start season on JVs at Simi Valley
- Share via
Professional and college baseball scouts don’t usually hang out at junior varsity games, but that might not be the case next month at Simi Valley, where highly regarded 6-foot-7 freshman pitcher Justin Campbell will start the season on JVs to give him a chance to get some innings in before moving up to varsity.
Campbell has been playing basketball. Simi Valley returns 14 of its 18 varsity players and has lots of pitching depth on varsity.
But if Campbell performs as many expect, look for him to be moved up by April and be ready to contribute.
In 2013, he helped the USA 12U team win a gold medal.
