Baseball: Beware of the sons of former Kennedy players
- Share via
Right now, it’s smart to have a son of a former Granada Hills Kennedy player on your roster. They usually turn out pretty good.
At Harvard-Westlake, Tyler Urbach is a starter and the son of former Kennedy player Doug Urbach.
At North Hollywood, Tyson Turner is the standout outifelder with 20 stolen bases for the first-place Huskies in the East Valley League and the son of former Kennedy outfielder Dain Turner. He’s six steals away from the school record. His father was a quick leadoff hitter in his playing days in the 1980s at Kennedy.
The question who’d win a race beteen the two Tuners?
“He is way faster than I ever dreamed of being,” the father said.
Correction: An earlier version of this blog incorrectly had Turner’s first name as Tyler. It is Tyson.
