Baseball: JSerra loses, 1-0, in North Carolina opener

JSerra, ranked No. 1 by The Times, was beaten by Florida Mosley, 1-0, on Wednesday morning in its opener of the National High School Invitational in Cary, N.C.
Mosley (13-0) got a one-hitter from Dillon Brown for 6 1/3 innings. Michael Cullen got the save. Royce Lewis had the only hit for JSerra (6-1).
Mosley scored its only run in the third inning. Later JSerra defeated Horizon, 6-2. Lewis had two hits.
Huntington Beach won its opener with a 12-3 win over Florida St. Thomas Aquinas. Logan Pouelsen had two hits and three RBI and also struck out three in three innings on the mound. Landon Silver added two hits.
San Clemente improved to 9-0 by rallying for a 7-5, eight-inning win over Georgia Lambert. Connor Sealey, Lucas Herbert and Tyler Ankrom each had three hits.
