Baseball: The Damien shout: ‘Touch home plate’
- Share via
One day after Damien saw a two-run home run in the seventh inning taken away when the lead runner failed to touch home plate, Daniel Benedict found himself getting plenty of help as he rounded the bases on Wednesday following his seventh-inning home run that tied Loyola, 4-4.
Players in the Damien dugout were shouting as he rounded the bases, “Touch first base. Touch second base. Touch third base. Touch home plate.”
“You would have been laughing,” Coach Andy Nieto said. “He got a dugout full of help to make sure he touched every base and put two feet on home plate.”
Damien rallied for a 5-4 win over Loyola at the Boras Classic.
