Boys’ basketball: Former Alemany guard Max Guercy is candidate for community service award

Former Alemany guard Max Guercy, a senior at Rice, is receiving recognition for his contributions off the court.
He’s a nominee for the 2016 Allstate NABC Good Works Team. It recognizes basketball players for their community service achievements.
He’s one of 154 nominees. The list will be reduced to 10 recipients.
He speaks at elementary schools for an anti-bullying campaign. He volunteers at local soup kitchens. He visits boy’s and girl’s clubs to speak about the importance of education. He coaches at a children’s clinic.
