Edison High mourns death of girls’ basketball coach Dan Wiley

Grief counselors were made available to Huntington Beach Edison students on Tuesday after the death of girls’ basketball Coach Dan Wiley, who died Monday, Athletic Director Rich Boyce said. He was 61.
Boyce said Wiley was found unresponsive at home.
Wiley was entering his eighth season as coach. Players were informed on Monday during practice.
Boyce said Wiley was a “good guy” who touched lots of people’s lives through his coaching.
“He was the best,” Boyce said.
Wiley is survived by his wife, Julie, and two daughters. Funeral arrangements are pending.
