Standout senior running back breaks off long run

St. Margaret’s traveled all the way from San Juan Capistrano to Chatsworth on Friday night to play Sierra Canyon in a football scrimmage. Both schools open their seasons next weekend on the road, with Sierra Canyon traveling to Utah and St. Margaret’s headed to Hawaii.
St. Margaret’s held out several key players recovering from injury, including quarterback George Krantz.
But Sierra Canyon didn’t hold out standout running back Bobby Cole, and it was only a matter of time before the senior turned on the speed and turned on the moves.
He didn’t disappoint with a long touchdown run in the second quarter. Cole rushed for 2,468 yards and 29 touchdowns last season. With Cole and quarterback Niko Harris in the backfield, Sierra Canyon has the makings of a strong offensive team.
Sierra Canyon moves up to Division 4 this season. St. Margaret’s will be in Division 7. Both teams should be competitive.
