Football: Corona Centennial can still get better

How do you score 72 points in a football game and still think you can get better?
That’s Corona Centennial Coach Matt Logan, whose team defeated Valencia, 72-42, last week. And that’s scary.
“Is there room for improvement? There always is,” Logan said. “I thought we missed some opportunities.”
Centennial is 3-2, and after having played Mater Dei, Long Beach Poly and Bishop Gorman, the Huskies deserve a few breathers. The rest of the regular season will be about trying to get better in preparation for their first appearance in the Pac-5 Division playoffs.
The two quarterback rotation of Anthony Catalano and Nate Ketteringham will continue. Running back JJ Taylor is averaging 9.6 yards per carry with 843 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Huskes’ outstanding receiver corp continues to be impressive. Javon McKinley has 30 catches for 599 yards and nine touchdowns. Greyson Bankhead has 29 receptions for 321 yards and two touchdowns.
“The focus is on improving,” Logan said.
