Football: Narbonne to travel to Corona Centennial for nonleague game in 2017

City Section Division I champion Narbonne will travel to Corona Centennial to play the Huskies in a nonleague football game in the third game of the 2017 season.
It’s a two-year contract, Coach Manuel Douglas said. Centennial will come to Narbonne in 2018. The game will match standout senior quarterbacks Jalen Chatman and Tanner McKee.
It will be the first time the two schools have played since the 2012 state regional game won by Centennial, 41-34.
“Whether we’re good enough or not, we’re playing them,” Douglas said. “Playing them makes us better.”
Narbonne will also play Gardena Serra, Long Beach Poly, Palos Verdes and Paramount in nonleague games.
The Gauchos are expected to be challenged by Dorsey next season for Division I supremacy.
