Football: One-week away from Hollywood-Belmont showdown
- Share via
Fans of Hollywood and Belmont are getting excited. A showdown game between the two unbeaten City Section Division III teams to decide the Central League championship is one week away.
Belmont is 8-0 and has a bye this week. Hollywood is 7-0 and faces Legacy before getting to play Belmont on its home field on Halloween eve.
These two schools have rarely had this kind of football success in the same season, so the excitement should be building.
Belmont has been led by soccer standout Erik Diaz, who has rushed for 899 yards and also has four interceptions.
Hollywood was able to beat Contreras, 40-0, without quarterback David Rothenberg, who was sidelined with the flu. Tyree Moore has rushed for 811 yards this season.
