Football: Practicing on Thanksgiving [Video]

On Thursday morning, Chaminade Coach Ed Croson was sitting at his desk in the coach’s office typing on his computer while waiting for players to show up for a short Thanksgiving practice session. There’s nothing better, because it means the team is still alive in the CIF playoffs.
“If you’re playing on Thanksgiving, you know it’s a good year,” Croson said.
Teams across the Southland still alive in the Southern Section playoffs were expected to engage in a similar short practice session.
Chaminade is preparing for a Friday Western Division semifinal game against visiting Lompoc.
Players seemed in a good mood. They practiced for 45 minutes, then were sent on their way.
