Football: San Clemente is team to watch in Southwest Division

San Clemente (9-1) is no longer in the Pac-5. It dropped into the Southwest Division and is seeded No. 2 behind Corona del Mar. Beware of the Tritons.
USC-bound quarterback Sam Darnold gave a preview of what he might do during the playoffs, completing 18 of 20 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns in a 56-15 win over Aliso Niguel on Friday.
Another player to watch is 6-foot-5 junior tight end Cole Fotheringham. In his last three games, he has 23 receptions and adds a new dimension to San Clemente’s attack.
