Football: Summer passing tournaments are changing their dates
- Share via
Summer passing tournaments, usually reserved for June and July, are being moved up as schools change their dead periods to earlier in the summer.
The San Juan Hills tournament, previously scheduled in June, is set for May 16. The Saugus tournament, usually held at the end of June, has moved to May 30. That’s the same day as the Dana Hills tournament. The Pierce College tournament is May 23.
“Everybody is moving forward,” Oaks Christian co-coach Jim Benkert said.
The Conejo Valley tournament will be held on June 20, the same day as a tournament at UCLA.
One tournament that is not moving is the Edison tournament set for July 11, but Alemany isn’t going to compete because it begins its dead period that week.
