Pac-12 media day: Anthony Barr tells how Loyola helped him

Linebacker Anthony Barr of UCLA has become a preseason All-American and potential high NFL draft pick. But when things weren’t going well during his early days with the Bruins, it was his former classmates and teachers at Loyola High who were always available to provide a lift.
“It’s a community that picks you back up when you’re down,” he said Friday at the Pac-12 media day. “It’s something I’ll always be thankful for.”
Barr, who was a running back and defensive back at Loyola, said he has finally found the right position in college.
“It’s awesome,” he said.
