Softball: Mission Viejo wins tournament in Arizona
- Share via
There should be little doubt about the best softball team in Southern California.
It’s Mission Viejo, which won the Tournament of Champions in Arizona with a 1-0 win over Yucaipa on Saturday.
The defending Southern Section Division 2 champions have two of the best players in the nation in pitcher Taylor McQuillin and outfielder Alyssa Palomino. Both have signed with Arizona.
McQuillin had 11 strikeouts in the championship game. Palomino established herself as Orange County’s career home run leader with 48.
