Water polo: Harvard-Westlake defeats Mater Dei to win tournament title

The first of several expected meetings between No. 1 Harvard-Westlake and No. 2 Santa Ana Mater Dei in water polo ended on Saturday with Harvard-Westlake winning the championship game of the Santa Barbara tournament.
The Wolverines, defending Southern Section Division 1 champions, defeated Mater Dei, 12-3.
Ben Hallock, a four-year starter, finished with five goals for Harvard-Westlake.
Goalie Sam Krutunog had nine saves.
Another Mission League team, Crespi, won the Conejo Classic with a 15-9 win over Hoover. Maxim Romanovici, a junior, had seven goals.
Another junior, Patrick McNamara, had four goals.
