Garrett Kueber scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly by Sam Shaikin and Chatsworth turned a double play on a safety squeeze to end the game in its 3-2 victory over Palisades in the first of two City Division I semifinals at USC.
Tyler Ryan drew a bases-loaded walk to force home the Chancellors’ first run in the third and Jeryd Reuss hit a game-tying RBI single in the fifth for fifth-seeded Chatsworth (28-5-1).
Ninth-seeded Palisades (18-13) took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third on an RBI triple by Cade Hulse and a ground out by Harrison McElroy that scored Hulse.
Chatsworth will play the winner of tonight’s second semifinal between Birmingham and Narbonne.
