Football: Bishop Amat 7, Notre Dame 6

Despite the offensive firepower of both teams, defense is dominating tonight’s Serra League showdown in Sherman Oaks.

Brandon Arconado’s 89-yard punt return for a touchdown midway through the second quarter has visiting Bishop Amat ahead of Notre Dame, 7-6, at halftime.

Matt Zahn had a chance to increase the Lancers’ lead at the end of the half but his 46-yard field goal try was just short as time expired.
