Track & Field: LB Poly’s Roberts wins 400 at prelims

Long Beach Poly’s Kaelin Roberts was the fastest qualifier in the girls 400 meters at the state prelims in Clovis and teammate and fellow freshman Autumn Wright was fifth in 55.21. Sarah Johnson of Oaks Christian won her heat and was fourth overall in 54.92 and Kennedy Gillian of Mission Viejo and Tunika Onnekikami of Peninsula notched the final two spots for Saturday’s finals.
Kemonie Briggs of Long Beach Wilson won his heat and qualified second overall in 14.52 in the boys 400. Vista Murrieta’s Michael Norman won his heat and had the third-fastest time (47.83).
