Watch Clippers’ Lamar Odom accidentally call himself a Laker

Lamar Odom’s second stint with the Clippers is getting off to a shaky start.
The season is only four games old, but so far he has made just five of 17 shots for what would be a career-low shooting percentage of 29%. He has also committed eight fouls and six turnovers while averaging just 12.3 minutes per game.
The Clippers’ first-round draft pick from 1999 is trying to work his way back from a bone bruise in his left foot that caused him to miss the final five preseason games. There are also rumors he had a knee injury over the summer, which might explain why he showed up to camp overweight and out of shape.
And then there’s the video (see above) from the Clippers’ media day that recently surfaced, in which Odom accidentally identifies himself as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Easy mistake to make. Odom did spend seven years with the Lakers, winning a pair of NBA titles and sixth man of the year honors during his time with the team.
Plus, it could have been much worse. When told of his mistake, Odom is seen in the video saying, “I said Lakers?!”
At least he didn’t say, “I’m with the Clippers?!”
So while the clip is kind of funny, it’s really not the biggest deal in the world. Just a slightly embarassing slip.
But it’s not like he was filmed shirtless in a bunch of awkward poses, hawking perfume with his reality-star wife climbing on his back and ultra-cheesy music playing in the background.
Now that would have been an embarassing video.
