Double trouble
Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert, tweeting about the State Farm commercial depicting Clippers star Chris Paul being separated at birth from his fictional twin brother, Cliff Paul: “Wouldn’t Chris Paul’s mom realize that 1 of her identical twins is missing? What r the chances his last name is Paul as well? #StateFarmprobs.”
Relax, everybody
New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony, on breathless media speculation about Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose’s return from a knee injury: “I wish y’all would stop rushing Derrick back. Please. He shouldn’t come back until he’s about 110% ready. I don’t think he should come back if he’s not ready to go out there and play. If he can’t compete at a high level, then what’s a couple more months going to do? What’s two more months going to do? I don’t think he should come back, and that’s just my opinion.”
Last-place Mavs?
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, on his team missing the playoffs two seasons removed from an NBA title: “I’ve always said there is one winner and 29 other teams tied for last. Our goal is to win championships, so it’s disappointing to not win. But we will come back and get better next year.”
Full house
Atlanta Hawks Coach Larry Drew, on his players’ status going into a game against Milwaukee: “I have everybody available tonight. It feels weird.”
