Don’t believe what you see: Kevin Love wasn’t really looking for a high-five from LeBron James

By now you’ve probably seen a hilarious clip featuring Cleveland Cavaliers teammates LeBron James and Kevin Love during Monday night’s NBA Finals game.

A seemingly jubliant Love appears to be going in for a high-five from LeBron James, only to be left hanging by his Cleveland Cavaliers teammate. For those of us who take pleasure in other people’s misery, the sight of a huge smile slowly disappearing from Love’s face is priceless.
It’s no wonder the clip has gone viral. This particular Vine has been looped more than 5 million times, and another one of the same moment has been looped close to 2 million times, and there are probably other versions of it out there as well.
Too bad it’s completely misleading.
Here’s what really took place:
Turns out they were simply having a discussion – albeit an animated one – following a layup by Golden State’s Andre Iguodala after after two offensive rebounds. (Thanks to The Big Lead for pointing this out.).
Yeah, I know. The fake story is a lot more fun.
