Suspensions likely in wake of Celtics-Nets scuffle [video]

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo and Brooklyn Nets power forward Kris Humphries are likely to be fined and suspended for their parts in a scuffle that followed Humphries delivering a hard foul on Celtics power forward Kevin Garnett in the second quarter of their game Wednesday night in Boston.

Humphries knocked Garnett to the ground, which led Rondo to shove Humphries. Nets forward Gerald Wallace then got involved as players pushed and shoved each other under the basket, along the baseline and into the seating area.

Humphries was given two technicals and ejected along with Wallace, who had already received a technical foul earlier in the game and was sent off the court with a second.

Rondo, who did not receive a technical, was also ejected, exiting the game with three assists to end his streak of games with at least 10 assists at 37, tying former Jazz great John Stockton for second longest in NBA history. Lakers Hall of Famer Magic Johnson holds the record at 46.

The scuffle began when Humphries shoved Garnett to the court as he attempted a shot along the baseline. Rondo pushed Humphries across the baseline and into the front row of seats. Wallace shoved Garnett as he got back to his feet.

The Nets built a 51-38 halftime lead and maintained a double-digit advantage into the fourth quarter.
