Los Angeles Kings close to acquiring Brayden McNabb from Buffalo

The Kings and Buffalo Sabres were closing in on a trade Wednesday that would bring 6-foot-4, 208-pound defenseman Brayden McNabb to Los Angeles with a pair of second-round draft picks and send prospects Hudson Fasching and Nic Deslauriers to Buffalo.

The deal was said to be set, but both sides still had to finalize it during a conference call with the NHL.

McNabb was a third-round pick by the Sabres in the 2009 entry draft. He had no points in 12 games with the Sabres this season.

Fasching, a right wing who was chosen 118thby the Kings in the 2013 draft, is playing for the University of Minnesota. Deslauriers, chosen by the Kings in the third round of the 2009 draft, had been playing for the Kings’ American Hockey League affiliate in Manchester, N.H.
