Here’s a Saturday date night idea: a drink, a meal and live music on a cruise of Ventura Harbor.
Island Packers, one of several boat companies operating out of Ventura Harbor Village, is offering dinner cruises one Saturday each month from June-October.
Here’s a peek at what’s scheduled:
June 27: Blues, Rock N’ Zydeco with Teresa Russell and Stephen Geyer. Main course: chicken piccata from Milano’s Italian Restaurant.
July 25: A tribute to Johnny Cash by the Mighty Cash Cats Band. Main course: barbecue ribs and chicken from Anacapa Brewing Co.
Aug. 22: Harmony and acoustic rock by the Catterwailers. Main course: Mardi Gras shrimp and grits from Harbor Boatyard Café.
Sept. 19: Mediterranean dancing with Kali. Main course: Chicken and filet mignon kebabs from the Greek Mediterranean Grill & Lounge.
Oct. 17: Fifties and ’60s music by Unkle Monkey. Main course: Chicken Parmesan from Milano’s Italian Restaurant.
The price - $58 for adults, $54 for seniors 55 and older and $45 for kids 12 and under - includes one free beverage. Local wines and beer are sold on board.
The cruises are aboard a 64-foot catamaran with inside seating on two decks.
Island Packers is just one of several marine pursuits companies based at Ventura Harbor Village. Others include Adventure Sailing Charters, Channel Islands Kayak Center and Raptor Dive Charters.
