Hawaii: Two Waikiki hotels’ bike packages help guests go green

Two Honolulu hotels are urging travelers to “go green” during their stays by using bicycles for sightseeing.
The Coconut Waikiki and the Shoreline, both Joie de Vivre hotels, are urging guests to use pedal power to tour the city with its Car-Free Oahu Vacation campaign.
The package includes discounted bicycle rentals and a bike tour for two people that’s curated by Pedal Bike Tours. Sights include Ala Moana Beach Park, Chinatown, Iolani Palace, President Obama’s boyhood home, “Sailor Jerry” Collins’ tattoo parlor and the urban murals of the Kakaako neighborhood.
The Coconut Waikiki’s package costs $409 a night. At the Shoreline, also in Waikiki, the deal costs $434 a night.
A two-night minimum stay is required at both properties. The offer is good through the end of the year.
As an added incentive, the hotels will reimburse guests for the cost of travel to and from the airport using EcoCab’s hybrid vehicles.
