$2,299 for airfare-hotel trip to Melbourne, southern Australia
- Share via
If you’re in the market for a deal to southern Australia, here’s a two-week trip for $2,299 per person. The price includes round-trip L.A.-Melbourne flights and hotel rooms too -- but only until Wednesday.
The deal: Australia’s Southern Splendors from Down Under Answers based in Washington state is self-guided. You’ll spend three to four days in each of three cities (see below). Here’s what’s included in the $2,299 price based on double occupancy:
--Round-trip airfare from L.A. to Melbourne on Qantas Airways;
--Internal airfares to Hobart in Tasmania and Adelaide in South Australia;
--Airline fuel surcharge and other airfare taxes and fees; and
--Twelve nights in hotels.
When: To take advantage of the offer, you have until Wednesday (Feb. 18) to make a reservation. You may select travel dates between May 1 and June 21 or July 24 and Sept. 17 (fall and winter in Australia).
Details: I did a rough comparison on Kayak and found that L.A.-Melbourne airfare alone starts at $1,254 in these date windows. One tip: Make sure you check average temperatures and rainfall for the time of year you’re going so you can pack accordingly.
