California: A discounted getaway to Napa, with spa credit too

Napa fans, give yourself a gift this year. Before or after the holidays, consider this getaway from Milliken Creek Inn & Spa: $199 for a midweek package that comes with a $50 spa credit and a few gift bags. And who couldn’t use a little post-holiday pampering come January?
The deal: The Scents of the Season Holiday Package comes with nice extras, but it’s the room price that’s really a delight. It includes a $50 spa credit, a gift bag of L’Occitane sample-size skin-care products, a tea and spice gift, breakfast for two, passes to the Synergy Wellness and Fitness Center in Napa, wine and cheese reception in the evening and a nightcap too.
When: The offer is good Sundays through Thursdays until Jan. 31.
Tested: I found availability for the package on Dec. 16 and 17, Jan. 6 and 13 as well as other random dates. The room with a king-size bed usually carries a best available rate of $299 and a Web-only offer of $254 -- and that’s without the spa credit and some other amenities in the package.
This deal works for those who want to go next week or have a post-holiday getaway; days between Christmas and New Year’s Day were booked up or required a multi-night stay when I checked online.
