Train and the Fray rumble into Las Vegas in early November

Reporting from Las Vegas — The pop sounds of Train come to the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center with a Nov. 7 show. The Fray is set to open.
San Francisco’s Train hit the scene in 1993 with a eponymous debut album that brought the group’s first hit, “Meet Virginia.”
Nearly a decade later, the group earned two Grammy Awards for follow-up album “Drops of Jupiter” and the song by the same name about the death of lead singer Pat Monahan’s mother.
By 2003, the band’s third studio album “My Private Nation” brought a third hit, “Calling All Angels.” The group followed with “Hey Soul Sister,” “If It’s Love” and “Marry Me” in 2009.
Train’s latest album, “California 37” produced “Drive By,” which reached No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Fray’s debut album, “How to Save a Life,” initially found success in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Britain with hits such as “Over My Head (Cable Car)” and “How to Save a Life.”
The band’s fourth and latest studio album, “Helios,” came out in February 2014.
