Teachers Plead Guilty in Blasts

Two women accused of hiring Alabama mercenaries to firebomb the cars and homes of disaffected former teachers at their chain of schools pleaded guilty today to racketeering charges.
Charlotte Ruth Wyckoff, 52, and Elizabeth Leta Hamilton, 39, both of Dana Point, also pleaded guilty to a charge of being after-the-fact accessories to the bombings. Under terms of a plea agreement reached Friday with prosecutors, the women will face a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine on the racketeering charge but will receive probation on the accessory charge.
