Three fund-raising organizations for the Irvine Unified School District have merged to form the Irvine Public Schools Foundation.
The groups banding together were Irvine Education Foundation, District Advisory Forum and Foundations of the Future.
“The combination of talents and energy means an increase in fund-raising, expansion of supplemental school programs and added technological resources for the students of Irvine,” said Nancy Albers, the foundation’s secretary.
The organization will work to provide teacher grants and money for arts programs.
Besides Albers, officers for the foundation’s board of directors are Keith Greer, president; Lupe Cook, vice president; and Steve McArthur, treasurer.
Board members are Janet Colclaser, Joseph Davis, Michael Gilano, Tom Gramlich, Hugh Hewitt, Richard Kittner, Fran Liggett, Kathy Mazzaferro, Carolyn McInerney, Christine Miller, Barbara Reynolds, Beverly Rice, Elizabeth Thomas, Sharon Wellikson and Sue Williams.
